Sanjeev Meghani
Mr. Sanjeev Meghani is an Ultra Marathon runner and has been running for the last 3 years. As a Senior Human Resource Leader, he has got back into running after a hiatus of 25 years. Being an athlete during his School days, Sanjeev has participated in District Level Athletics Championship in 200 Mts. and is a National Level Football Player.
Post his completion of School in the year 1994- till about 2019, he gave little or no time on his fitness and realized that his health vital parameters are on the adverse side and that is when he progressed into running on a regular basis. He started with Brisk walking in February 2019 and gradually started jogging and eventually running. His first event was a 10 Km Marathon run in August 2019 and did his 1st Half Marathon in October 2019 at the Airtel Delhi Half Marathon event. Post that he participated in several runs of 10 Kms. and 21Kms. and it was in December 2021, when he did his first Ultra Marathon run of 86 Kms. in the Ageas Federal 12-hour Stadium Run in New Delhi.
He is one of the few runners who has done an Ultra Marathon before doing a Full Marathon. He did two Back to back Full Marathon runs, the New Delhi Marathon in March 2022, and the SuperSikh Vaisakhi Marathon in April 2022 and post this he started training for his next Ultra Marathon run which was the Khardungla Challenge of 72 Kms. In September 2022 he successfully completed his Khardungula Challenge run and topped it up with the Ladakh Marathon Run post one day of completing the Khardungla Challenge.
Sanjeev is a multi-faceted personality and manages his work life balance well. On his Professional side, he is a CHRO in a leading Health Insurance firm and on the personal side, he is not only an Ultra Marathon Runner but also is an avid Painter and likes to Paint on Canvas. He started painting during Covid 2020 and has made numerous paintings which have been highlighted by some institutions. Beside all of this he ensures that he gives adequate time to his family as well, and always gives credit to his family who are supportive towards his commitments.
His next aim is to complete the Pro Cam slam this year of all the four events in Bangalore, Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai, before he takes his next Ultra Marathon run challenge for the year 2023. Being a pacer, Sanjeev feels he can assist and guide runners to keep a check on the basics of running basis his experience and learning over the last few years and will be able to engage, motivate and aspire his fellow runners who will be joining his bus.
